720 posters will be presented in print and digital format at the III World Congress of Public Health Nutrition 2014, following their review by three members of the Scientific Committee.

All the posters will be presented in print. Additionally, digital posters will be displayed using touch-screens during the entire congress.

Please respect the poster configuration requirements:  You must also follow the digital poster specifications and respect the measurements of the printed version that you must bring with you for the presentation.

Once the registrations have been formalised, the exact date and time of each poster presentation will be published on the Congress’s website.

Only those posters whose authors have been registered by September 26th 2014 will be included in the Congress’s official programme.

Presenting poster in digital format

Digital posters will be displayed using touch-screens during the entire Congress.

All digital posters are to be uploaded to this website by October 10 th.

Digital posters must meet the following requirements:

Technical characteristics for digital posters

1. POSTER FORMAT:

The page must be in VERTICAL format.
Each poster must consist of a single page, 102cm high by 57.5cm wide.  Download the template

2. FILE FORMAT AND SIZE:

We recommend creating the poster in PowerPoint (in .ppt or .pptx format).
To send the poster, you must first convert it into JPEG (.jpg) format.

Please try to limit the size of the JPEG file to no larger than 2Mb.

How to convert the PowerPoint file into JPEG:

Once you have created the poster, save it as a PowerPoint presentation. This will create a .ppt file (or .pptx in the Office 2007 version); this is not the file you will need to send. Within this PowerPoint file, instruct it to “Save as”, then select the “Save as type” (other formats) dropdown menu, selecting “JPEG File Interchange Format (*.jpg)”.

The name of the file must be the same as the title of the submitted poster summary.

Choose or create a folder to save the file and click on “Save”. When PowerPoint asks “Do you want to export every slide in the presentation or only the current slide?”, choose “Current slide only”. This is the JPEG file you must send; you must remember its name and location (folder address) for when the Congress website’s file-upload platform asks you for it.

IMPORTANT:
Please check that the poster in JPEG format displays correctly on your computer.

If you have any problems reading the text of the poster on your monitor, then it will not display correctly during the Congress either, so before sending it, first correct any problem by amending the text type, size or colour.

PLEASE CHECK THAT THE FILE YOU SEND IS THE ONE CONVERTED TO JPEG

3. EFFECTS:
PowerPoint effects are not to be used.

4. FONT SIZE:

Larger than 20pts, with single-line spacing and 2.5cm margins.
Please avoid using abbreviations.

5. FONT SIZE OF GRAPHICS AND CAPTIONS:

The font size of graphics and captions needs to be at least 20pts.
If you create a graphic with a font 20pts or larger, and you reduce it to fit it into the poster, then it may be too small to read. The text should be finalised once the graphic is in its allocated space in the poster.

6. FONT TYPES:

We recommend the following fonts: Arial, Verdana or Tahoma.

7. BOLD AND ITALICS:

We recommend that you do not use either bold or italics within the text box of the poster.

8. BACKGROUND:

Please use a plain background without effects.
The colour of the background should enable the text to stand out.
